Graham the giraffe
Graham the giraffe has been the school mascot for Montrose Primary and Montrose Pre-Primary School since 2010. He was inaugurated in February 2010 as part of the primary school’s 40th birthday celebrations. Graham was the second name of James Graham, Marquis of Montrose (17th century) after whom the school is named. Graham is a giraffe, and as a giraffe “he stands head and shoulders above the rest”, just as our school and our learners. After Montrose Pre-Primary School started in 2000, one of the parents did some artwork for the school and she included Milly, the little Millennium bug as a fun detail. Milly brought along her lifelong friend Monty and soon these two became part of our school’s image.
